Eileen paints landscapes in oil, employing a variety of techniques to best express each scene. She paints to pin down the experience of a particular moment, weather, view and feeling.

Each person who sees a painting completes it for themselves with their own unique reactions and the memories it provokes. This is when each painting fulfils its purpose, as its true meaning is revealed to the individual viewer.

Eileen’s home and studio are in a small village in South Cumbria, amongst the fields and fells. Being in the middle of Britain allows her to travel widely in her camper-van, sketching, walking and absorbing coastal and country scenes, but she often finds most inspiration in the wonderful places near to home.

Eileen sells her work in galleries and through exhibitions with Green Door Artists, Kendal.
