Christine Rooney BA Hons

Christine has a garden studio near Arnside where she works and displays her paintings. Living in Africa for many years, her influences include the bold and colourful designs of African textiles and African life. She also loves painting village life and is inspired by the local villages and towns here in South Lakes and Lancashire. Working mostly in Acrylic Inks, she also enjoys experimenting with different media. Her work is bold, colourful, happy and quirky. She is a member of the Green Door Artists Studios and participates in local Art Trails, selling her work in many local shops and galleries.

In 2011 Christine was selected as an Artist for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Christine spent the whole year telling the story (in paint) of what was happening in this area. Several of her paintings were displayed on large screens around London during the Games. She gives presentations about this fantastic experience and offers demonstrations, presentations and talks to Wls and art groups.
